Q3** Compare and contrast two known management approaches in order to assess their suitability for specific contexts and contribution to sustainable organizational behaviour.
Human Behavior approach - This approach emphasises on the effects of individual and group behavior on the organisation's performance. It explores the human relations and puts employee motivation, leadership, teamwork and participative management at prime. The major works of theis approach is Maslow hierarchy of needs, Herzberg's motivation - hygiene theory, Vroom's expectancy theory and Mcgregor's theory X and Y and Lewin's change theory.
This approach is more suitable for systmes where human behavior, interactions and teamwork are the key factors for success of organisation.
2. Mathematical approach - This approach involves logical means and mathematical tools to solve the critical business problems which deal with availability of resources, constraints and decision points. This approach includes inputs like theory of games by Neumann and Systems thinking by Russell Ackoff and other related theories.
The mathematical approach is more suitable where preciseness, rationality and accuracy of management systems is of prime importance than other aspects of management.
