Find accepted values for the density, molar mass, and molar volume (you may need to calculate this from other literature or accepted values) of oleic acid and Avogadro’s number. Then, Write a formula for how you will calculate percent error.
Avogadro’s number = 6.022 x 1023 mol-1
density of oleic acid = 895 kg/m3 = 895 g/L = 0.895 g/mL
Molar mass of oleic acid = 282 g/mol
Molar volume of oleic acid:
Molar volume = volume of 1 mol of substance
Hence,
Molar volume of oleic acid = molar mass/ density
= 282 g/mol / 895 g/L
= 0.315 L
Therefore,
Molar volume of oleic acid = 0.315 L

Formula to calculate percent error = I approximate value - exact value I / exact value x 100
(or)
= I Experimental value - Theoretical value I / Theoretical value x 100
