Epidemiology is the study of analysis of incidence, distribution, control of diseases in a defined populations. Major departments in epidemiology includes disease surveillance, forensic epidemiology, screenings, bio monitoring, studying the effects of treatment in groups of people (clinical trials), etc., Developments in epidemiology was evident by population based health assessments called life at risk, by which it provides efficient and effective way of health care programs to give proper guild lines to populations. Applied field epidemiology undergoes investigation of communicable and non communicable diseases outbreaks, mortality, morbidity, status of nutritional values and other health indicators.
Epidemic and pandemic terms indicate spreading of diseases among populations. But epidemic refers to condition where disease outbreak from a populations and spread rapidly and pandemic disease refers to a larger version of epidemic disease as it spreads disease from around countries or even more tan a continent.
