1. If a Tagamet 300mg / 150ml is administered intravenously at a
rate of 25mg per hour. How
much will have been administered in mg and ml after 7 hours.
The maximum daily dose of APAP allowed for an adult is 3g. They can
be administered at
frequencies of 6 to 8 hours. If a child who is 6 years old were to
take acetaminophen for fever
every 6 hours, what would the corresponding mg dose be?
For a 35 year old adult the average dose of Augmentin is 875mg
every 12 hours. What will the
daily dose be for a child weighing 44lbs?
The dose of dexamethasone for children is 0.08mg-0.3mg / kg /
day divided into 6 or 12 hour
intervals. For an infant who weighs 17lbs, calculate:
a.Day dose (maximum and minimum)
b. Dose at 6 hour intervals
c. Dose at 12 hour intervals
•ANSWER•1
Given value ,
Tagamet 300mg/ 150 ml
Rate of infusion- 25 mg per hour
To find- infused solution in 7 hour in mm or mg
Solution,
tagamet - 300 mg/ 150 ml
= 2 mg / ml
formula
Rate of infusion= total volume/ Time
so, put the value
Total volume= rate of infusion× time
Total volume= 25 × 7
Total volume= 175 ml
total 175 ml volume infused in 7 hour (answer)
while, tagamet 300 mg / 150 ml
So, 2 mg/ ml
= 2× 175 ml = 350 mg volume infused in 7 hour
answer- 350 mg to be infused in 7 hour
•ANSWER•2
Given value
daily dose of APAP= 3 gram for adult
Frequency= 6 per hour
To find,
dose of acetamenofen to who is 6 year old
Young Formula
child dose= {age( in year)/age(in year) +12 }×adult dose
So, chlid dise={ 6 / 6 +12}×3 gram
={ 6/ 18}×3
={ 1/3}× 3
= 3/ 3
= 1 gram
So, = 1000 mg per day
While frequency= 6 houry
So, dose per 6 hour= 1000/ 4
= 250 mg per 6 hour
= 250 mg per 6 hour (answer)
•ANSWER•3
given value,
875 mg per 12 hour
Child weight- 44 lb
formula,
Clark's formula
Child dose= {Body weight(lb) / 150}× adult dose
Child dose= {44 /150}× 875 mg
=( 44/ 150)× 875
=0.2933× 875
=256.666
= 256.67 mg per 12 hour
= 256.67 mg per 12 hour ( answer)
