3: Infuse 3000 ml LR at 50 ml/hr and then d/c. The infusion was started Monday at 1700. The first IV bag has completed and the second bag should have started Tuesday at __________? The current time is Wednesday 0800. Is the IV ON TIME, EARLY OR LATE?
1.IV IS ON TIME. 1000/150=6.666666 It will take 7 hours to complete the infusion.
2. The fluid is ontime.
Time =Total volume(ml)/drip rate (ml/hr)
ie, 500/75=6.66666
time taken to complete 500 ml of D5 is = 7hours
Infusion started at 0645 and change flow rate to TKO at 0145. Yes, IV on ontime.

1000ml/50drop rate(ml)=20 hrs
second bag should start at tuesday 1200
