Suppose that you were engaged in genetic engineering or pesticide development. What environmental or social safeguards would you impose on your research, if any? What restrictions would you tolerate from someone else concerned about the effects of your work?
Could you give me an example of the answer? Thank you.
Social safeguarding is very important when it comes to working with genetic engineering or pestiside development . As it revolves around a lot of ethical conundrum and social safety. Some practices are to be made in lab so that those things are maintained , adverse effects are controlled. So that people getting impacted by these kind of research get impacted positively and not negatively . Cause this type of research like genetic engineering once it's done in anyorganism ,. It cannot be redone or undone again.
I would tolerate anything as long as it comes under good laboratory practices , it involves the impact on humans or any other living creatures. This type of research needs a great deal of ethics to govern it , cause with today's scientific advancement anything can be made and achieved thorough genetic engineering. But the question comes , is it necessary, and if it is , how much helpful is it , is it going to change things for better ?
So a governing body coming to discuss the ethical conundrum of my research would be always welcome.
