The hormones are release by endocrine glands.

1.Hormonal stimuli = it is the type of stimuli in which the hormone is released in response to another hormone.

Example -

The Hypothalamus produces hormone which stimulates the anterior pituitary.

The anterior pituitary releases thyroid stumulating hormone.

This thyroid stumilating hormone stimulates thyroid gland.

The stimulated thyroid gland produce T3 & T4 hormone.

2.Humoral stimuli = In this type the hormone is released in response to changes in extracellular fluid such as blood or the ion concentration in the blood.

Example - If there is increase in level of glucose in blood,then pancreatic cells releases insulin.

3.Neural stimuli = In this type ,the nervous system directly stimulates endocrine glands to release hormones.

Example - In stress condition, the sympathetic nervous system directly stimulates the adrenal medulla.the adrenal medulla releases epinephrine & norepinephrine.
