attribution is the process by which individuals explain the causes of behavior and events.

In this theory they have two types of Attributions:

1. External Attribution
2. Internal Attribution

External Attribution : is a process, Where an individual s behaviour is caused due to external factors .situation or event outside a person's control unlike the internal attribution , in which it involves internal characteristic .

Internal Attribution : is a process , Where an individual behaviour is caused due to internal factors like traits , Motives and beliefs .

The say that people give value and attention to internal Attributions .

Eg : When we see a person co relation with a person behaving friendly and a person who is actually friendly .

Internalattributions provide us with information from which we can make predictions about a person’s future behavior.

5 Sources of information :

1. Person s choice of behaviour
2. Behaviour depends on persons personality and accidental behaviour might be the cause of external attribution
3. social acceptance: Behaviors low in sociable desirability lead us to internal attributions more than socially undesirable behaviors.
4. person’s behavior is to directly to benefit or harm
5. Influencial behaviour
