Expert Solution

Workers ' compensation in the United States originated in each state in the early 20th century as a political compromise, when occupation-related deaths and injuries became alarmingly common. Medical bills and lost wages arising from work-related injury can place a huge economic and psychosocial strain on workers and their families, and losing a family member to work-related death can have devastating effects on the financial security of the family. The basic principle of compensation for employment is that employers assume responsibility for providing insurance that provides money and medical benefits for employees who are injured at work without regard to fault;

Provide injured employees with a handbook on "rights and responsibilities," which is marked with the company logo. For this reason, most state WC offices have ample models. It serves as a reminder to workers that their employer and their work are related to the WC system. Create a basic monthly summary report for WC / Safety that goes to the executive. Copy this to public newsletter boards so that employees are aware that executives are monitoring related programs. This promotes the WC's gravity and safety.

Require supervisors to make weekly calls on TTD to employees and have weekly chats on modified duty with employees. To ask how they are doing and if they need anything, this would be a simple general chat. This is a powerful motivator and reminder of the importance of the worker and the fact that they are expected to return to their regular job. It can also recognize problems that need to be resolved in the statement. Make employees fully aware of the costs of WC. "Dollars" are not as important as the sales or operating time units. For instance, if employees are aware that they work the first 45 minutes of each shift or produce a number of pieces per shift, week or month
