(The Ramayana of Valmiki) Choose one specific decision in The Ramayana where Rama honors dharma through his dedication to his duties and obligations. Explain the result of Rama's decision. In addition, explain whether or not you would have made the same decision and why.
The Ramayana has numerous examples; where Rama honors dharma through his dedication to his duties and obligations. For example; His stepmother remembered that the king had once promised to grant her any two wishes she desired, so she demanded that Rama be banished and Bharata be crowned as Rama was her stepson while Bharata, was her real son. The king had to keep his word to his wife and ordered Rama's banishment. Rama without any questioning accepted the decree. He said "I gladly obey father's command," he said to his stepmother; “I would go even if you ordered it." The result of this decision of Rama establishes the importance of parents commands and the obedience to it in the Indian society. I would have made the same decision in life as giving importance to parents is a virtue that generates love, respect and cohesion in the family. It sets a good precedence for the future generations.
