I have always used Andriod Based Multimedia Phone after the era of keypad phones. Nokia ans Samsung happen to be my favorite brands and I have been pretty faithful to them even though they happen to be costlier than the newer cheaper andfeature loaded phones of various companies. I have always bought the latest versions of these brands which is generally marketed to me online. I first try and search on Google as to what new versions of the phone are available see their feature price, make a whole comparison of their entire features which are readily available online and then sometimes go to the local store in the town for purchasing the same orpruchase online. Both options are available and it completely depends on my mood that day to purchase my finalised product.
Online phone marketing is an excellent strategy. With mobile and intenet in every youngsters hands I think for any company to launch a new product, it is crucial to firstmarket the product online and then foray into more traditional ways of marketing like banner, events in colleges, TV advertisements. You get a detailed look of the phone, its features, compare it with other peer companies to find out the value for money if you are not brand loyal and preferfeatures over brand name.
Thus one can get a feel of the phone online before even actually thinking about purchasing it. Also nowdays certain mobiles are being launched through a particular online retailer E.g One Plus phones are sold only through Amazon where Amazon sends Purchase Passes to restricted number of buyers during the first launch of the phone. All this creates hype in the minds of the consumer and his interest gets diverted towards attaining the Purchasing Pass of the phone and thus he ends up buying it. These are effective methods of marketing.
