they are having with their sense of sound
perception. Having gained knowledge about this area of study,
classify and explain the problem of these
group of children based on the site of laceration.
Our perception of sound is determined by three characteristics. Loudness depends on the amplitude, or height of the sound waves; as amplitude increases the sound appears louder. It is determined by the frequency of the sound waves ā the number of sound waves that pass a given point per second. Timber is the quality of the sound we perceive and is the characteristics that help us distinguish the sound of a flute from the sound of a saxophone.

Inside the ear is an intricate system of membranes, small bones, the receptor cells that transform sound waves into neural information for the brain. The third bone is attached to a second membrane, the oval window, which covers a fluid-filled, spiral-shaped structure known as the cochlea. The neural messages they create are then transmitted to the brain via the auditory nerve.
So, the problems in the organs cause sound perception. There may be physical problems. If there is problem in the structure of the cochlea , eardrum, or there is problem in the bones inside the ear, then the sound perception gets hampered. Besides the problem in the basilar membranes causes problems in the receptor of the stimulus and it causes problems in the perception of the sounds.
