Why is the interconnectedness of the brain critical to higher order function?

Solutions

Expert Solution

The brain is an enormously complicated system of interconnected cells. Brain connectivity refes to pattern of anatomical links of functional connectivity or of causal interactions between distinct units within a nervous system. The higher order brin functions include cognition and behavior. Intellectual function, memory, speech and language, complex perception, orientation, attention, judgement, planning and decisiion making functions falls under cognition function of brain. Behavior is the manisfestation of these cognitive functions. Brain directs different personality, traits, response styles which signifies the person's behaviors across a range of situations and circumstances. These functions are controlled by different regions of brains. Brain is composed of many different nodes. Due to interconnectedness each node reaches any other node in the network efficiently. This interconnectedness of node helps in intergrating the information. And interconnection of these regions is responbile for different functions of brain which can be visualised inn a person's behavior.

“It is obvious that the higher exposures to risk could be critical for a bank’s survival in the event of a new financial crisis, but an elimination of the risk exposure is not the answer.” The suggested “balancing act” is not a strategy. What then, would you consider a practicable strategy as it relates to risk taking?
