ANATOMY

Brain is the main organ present in the body which in a skull and it weight about 1500gm and it feels like very less in as because it floats in cerebrospinal fluid which is a fluid present in cranial cavity.

Brain is the main organ of the body which is responsible for all the functions in the body and it controls all the physical and mental ablities of the body.

Brain having mainly three things which are

  • CEREBELLUM
  • CEREBRUM
  • BRAIN STEM

CEREBRUM is the largest part of the brain which have the two hemisphere called as the right and left hemisphere which also have slucus and gyrii in them.

CEREBELLUM is the small part located under the cerebrum,

BRAIN STEM - this is the kind of the connecting link between the cerebrum and spinal cord.

THE two hemisphers of the cerebrum are also connected by the fibers called as the corpus collosum and and these hemispheres only have some fissures which use to divide into lobes.

There are 4 lobes of the brain that are ;

  • FRONTAL LOBE
  • OCCIPITAL LOBE
  • PARIETAL LOBE
  • TEMPORAL LOBE

Another imporant thing is that brain having the surface called the cortex which have various neurons inside them that are the functional unit of the brain responsible for the signalling.

Deep in the brain , there is also a white matter and a grey matter that is important in brain functioning.

There is also some cavities in which fluid is filled called as the ventricles.

Brain is also covered by some covering called meninges which are dura mater , arachnoid mater and a pia mater.

SO this is the anatomy of the brain.

FUNCTIONS;

BRAIN performs all functions like vision , speech , learning , emotions , coordination , movement,

BRAIN also use to release hormones , controls the blood pressure , breathing , all the system working , muscle movement etc,

BRAIN STEM also having three organs called midbrain , pons and medulla which also have control centers for the various system of the body.

Whole controlling in body is seen by the brain].

DEVELOPMENT

BRAIN is developed from the neural tube which starts in the 3rd week of the gestation period.

THE neural tube is very important for the development of the organs , neural tube is developed from the ectoderm layer of the growing feotus.

Neural tube use to have neural progenitor cells which use to divide to form neurons,

During the 6th week of the gestation period each of the progenitor cell use to divide into two and forms one neuron and one new progenitor cell.

AND in this manner the back part of the neural tube use to form the neurons for the spinal cord and front one for the brain and by this process development occurs and in this non neuron cells called glial cells helps brain to get mature.
