a) In 1920, the average age men got married for the first time was 24.6 years. It is believed that young people are waiting longer to get married. A recent study of 120 men found that the average age the men got married for the first time was 29.5 years with a standard deviation of 5.2 years. Is this evidence that the average age men get married has increased?
b) A diet guide says that you will get an average of 140 calories from a serving of vanilla yogurt. Consumer Reports tested 14 brands of vanilla yogurt and found the mean to be 145 with a standard deviation of 5.45. Is this evidence that what the diet guide claims is different from what the researchers found?
