Compare and Contrast SARS-CoV-2, Herpes Simplex Virus Type I, HIV and Influenza B. Specifically, briefly (may just be a few words) describe the following for each:

Solutions

Expert Solution

Virus Type Genetic Material Treatment
SARS-CoV2 ss RNA positive strand no known vaccine or treatment,Antiviral drug like Remdesivir
Herpes simplex Virus type 1 DNA Virus Acyclovir
HIV ss RNA Retrovir,Epivir
Influenza

Segmented negative strand

ss RNA

Paracetamol,Oseltamivir,amantadine,zanamivir

SARS-CoV2- Its Severe acute respiratory Syndrome coronavirus 2 disease. It is a ongoing panemic and trasmitted by person to person by sneezing, coughing. Its Symptoms like pneumonia, headache, fever, difficulties in breathing etc.

Herpes simplex Virus type 1--> HSV-1 is mainly transmitted by oral to oral contact. Its infections are lifelong.Symptoms of herpes include painful blisters or ulcers.

HIV - HIV caused AIDS.Symptoms include weight loss, fever, night sweats, fatigues and lack of immunity due to loss of T cells. It is trasmitted by contact with infected blood, semen ,vaginal fluids and sharing drug needles with someone who is infected with HIV.

Influenza - Initial flu symptoms include headaches, chills, cough, fever, loss of appetite and muscle aches, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea etc. Influenza (flu) viruses travel through the air and by mouths or noses of people who are nearby.

Various experiments have shown that the SARS CoV-2 is an RNA virus that enter the human cells through a transmembrane receptor called angiotensin converting enzyme 2 (ACE2). Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and genome sequencing have been cardinal in both diagnosis and research into the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, DNA sequences of both SARS CoV-2 virus and susceptible human hosts are available. As a student of molecular biology and biotechnology, use the above information to answer the following questions. 9.In the study...
