McDonald's Corporation is an US based fast food giant by Richard and Maurice McDonald established in1940 at California, America

fast-food giant McDonald's has been named as one of the unethical firm in the world because of its business conduct, marketing strategy, operational management and including the way it treats its suppliers .its unethical practices invites unhealthy food culture, environmental issues ,misleading advertisement and its legal issues.but with McDonalds 2020 CSR goals revolves around sustainability program

B)ethical problems

  • global warming : global warming resulting from greenhouse gas emissions from cows for breeding cattle. all cows farting(cow dunk-methne) all day, they could produce greenhouse gas
  • high-fat ,High-calorie diets with cholesterol and fat like that found in burgers and nuggets are result to heart disease, cancer, diabetes, cause obesity, liver failure, and other health problems. Most fast foods includes carbohydrates with little to no fiber. fried pies,pastries and cookies contain high amount of sugar. children who eat fast food at least three times a week are more likely to develop asthma and other respiratory problems.
  • Unethical advertisement /misleading of McDonald company. that advertises gorgeous stylized food but delivers something completely different and sad in reality.several times mcdonalds being sued by customers for false advertisement. Regular visit of food regulator and inspectors in outlet. Sometimes has been called out by the countries Consumer Affairs Agency over a misleading advertisement, and has since apologised for it.it affect goodwill of the company

management of ethics ensure better deliver their CSR to their strategic business partners and the public as a whole

McDonald’s has formulated its Aspirational Goals 2020 that explain the measures for sustainable sourcing of foods and packaging, designing and operating environmentally friendly outlet.

  1. Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC):the objectives of RMHC is to formulate support programs that directly and indirectly improve the health and well-being of children and their families. Ensure a world where all children have access to medical care.
  2. Supplier Code of Conduct :the company mandated its suppliers to adhere to the Supplier Code of Conduct. The matters in the Code clarifies requirements of McDonald’s unethical practice related to Human Rights, Environmental Management, Workplace Environment etc..
  3. Employee health and safety at workplace
  4. Gender equality with ensuring optimum and rational amount of male at female key positional holders.
  5. Since 2010 at the US-based McDonald’s outlets they have using LED lighting and achieved reduction of 7% in energy usage each year.
