Discuss the basic developmental characteristics of Protostome
vs
Deuterostome. What do you speculate is the reason for studying
developmental
mechanisms/patterns in specific invertebrate models for insight
into human biology?
Protostome - means first mouth.
Embryonic clevage - Spiral clevage
Blastomere - determinate development or masaic pattern development
Blostopore - form either mouth or both mouth and anus.
Coelom - shziocoelom
Deuterostome - means second mouth
Embryonic cleavage - radial
Blastomere - determinate or regulative dev
Blastopore '- form anuss mouth is formed from another opening.
Coelom - enterocoelom.
Since according to many scientist, all invertebrates arise from single celled protist, are either protostome and deuterostome, it is a good pattern to study for studying about how the deuterostomy arise in human biology.
