Patient is having excruciating pain as he might be having acute or chronic pancreatitis

Main causes of pancreatitis

• Abdominal trauma
• Alcoholism
• Gallbladder stone
• Autoimmune disorder
• Inflammatory process or obstruction of duct
• High triglycerides

The cause for excruciating pain in patients are due to

Self degradation of the pancreatic cells . When the pancreatic duct get obstructed they will get activated before reaching the digestive tract and there by degrades the pancreatic cells around the obstruction. As a result of release if more enzymes at the time of food intake bring about excruciating pain in patients

Pancreatic complicates the digestive process by

• The pancreatic enzyne that is responsible for the digestion of protein ,fat etc will not be present and there is obstruction in the pathway
• Lack of pancreatitis enzyme due to reduced production of pancreatice enzyme as the pancreatic enzyme is damaging the pancreatic cells which produces it . So the degradation of pancreatic cells results in the lack of enzyme thereby affecting the digestion
• The digestive process slows down due to lack of enzyme
• The neutralisation of acid content of stomach is done by bicarbonates of pancreatic enzyme and so the food will be more acidic than usual in the Small intestine.
• The portal and splenic blood vessel thrombosis might occur as a result of pancreatic enzyme .
• During digestive the blood sugar will not get absorbed as a result of lack insulin as the pancreatic cells are damages by the degradation of pancreatic enzymes.
• The digestive process delays and the digestion of many substance will not take place resulting in malnutrition
• If excess leakage of enzyme occur then the small intestine also wil get degraded.
