What factor influences the color of a melanocyte (and thus the color of your skin)
Surrounding cells metabolic rate
Location in the skin
Length of dendrites on the melanocyte
The primary cause of cancer is...
Mutation of DNA
None of the answers are correct
Microbial infection
1. Location in the skin
The melanocytes produces a pigment known as melanin and the presence of melanin decided the color of the skin. The melanocytes starts producing melanin pigments only when they get exposed to UV rays of sun. Hence, if in a particular location of skin melanocytes are present in abundant amount than more melanin pigments will be produced and hence the skin will be darker. But, if in a particular location number of melanocytes are less, than less amount of melanin will be produced and hence the color of the skin will be lighter.
2. Mutation of DNA.
Cancer is nothing but the uncontrolled division of body cells.
DNA is a type of nucleic acid which is responsible for synthesis of protein. These proteins controls each and every activity of our body. Genes are present in the DNA which synthesizes amino acids and these amino acids after joining by peptide bonds form a protein.
Hence due to certain causes like exposure to radiation, the genetic combination changes. So when the gene responsible for controlling cell division changes, it results in uncontrolled division of cells and causes formation of numerous cells and this formation of numerous cells due to uncontrolled cell division is called as cancer.
