Why does clicking the wifi dropdown thing at the top of my Apple Mac make whatever webpage, video, etc., load faster? By "wifi dropdown thing" i mean where you click it drops down a list of other wifis you can connect to or go to advanced settings. That little tab is what im talking about, and all I need to do is just click it and leave my mouse there and the page loads faster, helps videos buffer faster too!
Wondering if anyone else has tried this, its almost like its forcing the connection to be stronger. Also, on my iPhone 6s, swiping up to get to the volume, wifi, network, camera, mini options, also has this same effect. For example, when im loading replies to an instagram comment, if i swipe up quick it will load them immediately. If i don't, it usually takes a couple seconds!!!
There are lots of easter eggs spread across apple devices from iPhone, MacBooks to almost obsolete iPods. Apple Inc. is very concerned about the privacy of the users and it comes at a higher price for sure. Also, the built quality is more than amazing with no almost no other brand coming even close to the market trends that Apple has set. Most of all Apple has a brilliant after sales and service which to be frank not all brands can do.
Considering all these things, there some easter eggs (obviously hidden) that can come as a mere matter of surprise once a user finds them. The situation that you came across is actually a case of a slow DHCP server and sometimes a fluctuating DNS. This happened with me back when I had an iPhone. However, Apple has launched some subsequent updates which were more stable and solved this problem. Other reasons for some closely related behavior similar to yours were overloaded cache and cookies.
I hope, this helps. These were the things I encountered and had researched for it long back.
