1. Proper dimensions is essential in every profession. In engineering, a shaft may not fit as desired in the hole if the dimensions are not as specified. Likewise , in other profession such as tailoring, the tailor initially takes measurement of the individual for stitching the clothes of his / her size. Hence, dimensioning is indispensible in every profession.

2. Cost of a product can be decreased by synergetic effort of all the stages of production and cost reduction at each stage will lead to cost reduction of the product. Every stage of production involves certain steps that may be scrapped in consultation with other stages which reduces time and cost involved in the product, thereby, reducing the cost.
