2. Draw a eukaryotic gene with 5 exons, indicating all sequences needed for transcription, RNA processing and translation. Draw the same gene as an mRNA, post processing, indicating all regions that function for stability and translation.
The eukaryotic gene that to be transcribed has some important elements such as the promoters and the coding sequences.
Core promoter is the TATAA box which is -35 bp upstream the start site of transcription and the regulatory promoter which plays the role of controlling tthe transcription.
Eukaryotic gene has intron- non coding sequence and exon- coding sequence. After the transcription, the introns are removed and all the exons in the particular gene are joined through a process called splicing.
Inorder to sent the mRNA to the cytosol where translation takes place, it must undergo some post transcriptional modification such as 5'-caping, splicing and polyadenylation at 3'-end.
After this mRNA moves out the nucleus through the nuclear pore and reaches the cytosol where translation takes place producing amino acids.
