-Eukarya

-Archaea

-Bacteria

Solutions

Expert Solution

Solution:

The given groups are called domains ( also called Super kingdom) proposed by Carl woese. He gave a three domain theiry which include 6 kingdoms.

Eukarya includes Kingdom Protista, Mycota(Fungi), Plantae, Animalia. Archae includes Kingdom Archaebacteria. Bacteria includes Kingdom Monera.

Among the given 3 groups, Archae is the furthest from the other two. Talking evolutionary, Archae are most primitive organisms. They were the first to be born on Earth and they are also present nowadays with their primitive characters. They are also called Oldest living fossils.

e.g. Methanogens ( methane producing bacterias ), Halophiles ( found in extreme salt areas ), thermo acidophiles ( found in extreme high temperature ) are classified under Archae group.

Thier cell wall is made up of complex polysaccharides and polypeptides and their cell membrane is highly complex because of highly branched lipid chain. These different and primitive characters allow them to survive in extremes conditions.

All these points prove that Archaebacteria are the most primitive bacteria which belongs to Archae group and they have the most primitive characters that are found rarely in today's organisms.

So, Archae group is the furthest from the other two in Evolutionary point of view.

Hence, Option B) Archae, is the correct answer
