(a): Increased flexibility of employees: Telecommuting increases flexibility of employees as employees are able to use their time in a flexible manner and as per the time schedule that is most convenient for them. Employees are not required to usually adhere to the office guided timings in many cases.
(b): Ability to attract workers who might not otherwise be available: There are many workers who are not able to work in the standard conventional office setting. For example female employees who have recently given birth to their child or employees who are not able to commute to workplace due to a minor injury or a health problem etc. are able to work now because of telecommuting.
(c ): Lessened burden on working parents – Telecommuting will enable working parents to have a better work life balance and will be able to devote required time to their children. They can draw out a schedule for their children and for their office work.
(d): Less time and money wasted on physical commuting – Telecommuting does away with the need of actually commuting to the work place. As such it will lead to time savings that was earlier spend on commuting and money will also be saved as office goers will not have to spend on fuel, hiring cabs or paying for public transport.
(e): Increased productivity – Telecommuting increases productivity as employees are able to remove the unnecessary burden of going to office. Hence telecommuting gives a productivity boost and employees are able to focus on their work with a higher intent and higher focus level.
(f): Reduced absenteeism – As employees are working from their homes their need to take leaves to meet their personal activities are greatly reduced. Employees can do their personal work easily after finishing their office work.
