As a Filipino youth, what are your insights regarding the current issues surrounding Philippine development? What are the implications of being so dependent to other countries in terms of our economy, lastly, can we sustain the development of the Philippines despite the manifestation of unequal distribution of opportunities because of globalization and capitalism? Discuss coherently
There are various current issues faced by Philippines during development. The major issues are relating with health, nutrition, education, physical problems, environmental quality, mental health etc. The access to health care is very less in Philippines which are due to lacking in development.
Also some environmental problems are faced by the people like pollution. Pollution affects all the people, government and low – income which can cause health diseases and problems. And also high population is also a main reason which affects the incomes per person.
• The implications of such problematic issues are political and economic changes in the economy. The major implication is structural problems and regulation. The root cause of underdevelopment of this economy is bad infrastructure facilities and poor law regulations. The uncertainty in the legal and political aspects is the results of the issues.
• We can sustain the development of Philippines by focusing more on the legislature and administrate segments of the economy. The globalization may cause the unequal distribution of opportunities but it also promotes the businesses all over the world. Therefore, first the economy should look after the major issues and find the solutions.
Moreover, capitalism is one of the causes of underdevelopment of the economy but the problem can be solved if the financial dependence of the economy on other countries is reduced. Instead of this the economy should focus on more exports and trade outside the world to improve the connections with the countries.
