Solutions

Expert Solution

1. Bodily Functions Of Sympathetic:

Sympathetic is known for Flight-Fight-Fear response. Sympathetic system prepares the body for increased activity of all the systems of the body. It is resonsible for providing quick responses such as when a dog comes after us our heart rate is increased, micturition is inhibited, respiration is increased and our body prepares itself for this stressful condition.

Bodily action of Parasympathetic system:

Parasympathetic system acts just opposite to the sympathetic system. It relaxes the body and normalises all the bodily function. It slows down all the high energy functions. It brings back the body to its normal state.

2. Comparison:

A. Heart rate in sympathetic is increased, in Parasympathetic heart rate is slowed down.

B. Digestion: sympathetic - it decreases the activity of digestive system

Parasympathetic- stimulates activity of digestive system.

C. Respiratory - in sympathetic it dilates the bronchioles , in Parasympathetic constricts the bronchioles.

D. Pupillary response- in sympathetic it dilates, in Parasympathetic pupils constricts.
