Expert Solution

Answer a:

Two internal recruitment methods:

1. Reference from the supervisors for the sales representative from amongst the existing staff based on their performance.

2. Promotions of the existing staff that are at the subordinate level to the existing sales force.

Advantages of internal recruitment method:

1. Company is not required to incur huge cost of recruitment and selection and hiring of the candidate is accomplished within a very short duration of time.

2. Candidate who is being internally selected is well aware of the culture and work of the organisation. Thus, internal recruitment reduces the excessive need of training and development of the candidate.

Answer b:

Private employment agency conducts recruitment on behalf of the company and provides the right candidate to the company for the particular job by charging a certain amount of cost to the company.

Advantages of the private employment agency:

1. They provide specialised expert services to the firm for the recruitment of the right candidate and thus save huge cost and time incurred by the company in recruitment and selection of the candidate.

2. Outsourcing the recruitment process helps company in focusing on its core business activities rather than wasting time on recruitment and selection.

Answer c:

Two categories of tests:

1. Psychological fitness test and aptitude test and medical test that include the intellectual questions related to reasoning and general behaviour of the candidate in the normal situation and the fitness check up of the candidate.

2. Technical knowledge test includes the knowledge of the technical aspect of the job or the product or the subject that is well known to the candidate.

The above tests are conducted for almost all kind of job positions but to be more specific, these tests are conducted for the jobs that have technical backgrounds such as production manager or project manager or software developer, etc.

Answer d:

The test that would be conducted for sales representative position is the market research test where candidate would be provided with a specific situation of market or the customer and he would be asked to deal with the situation. This test will help in hiring the right candidate as it would give a general understanding of the method that is being applied by the candidate to deal with the situation.
