What factors increase the risk of resistance to antibiotics in animal?
Hi Answer:
Q. What factors increase the risk of resistance to antibiotics in animal?
Answer: The antibiotic is the drugs which are used to kill the microorganism or used to stop the growth of bacterial infection in the animals and human beings. But currently, it is seen that most of the animal develop antibiotic resistance means the antibiotics didn’t work or unable to cure the bacterial infection. The major reason behind the development of antibiotic resistance in various animals are as follows:
(i) Over-prescription or use of antibiotics: We are using antibiotics excessively to get more and more profit in poultry and aquaculture. Due to this excessive use of these antibiotic the animals develop resistance to these antibiotics and these antibiotics prove ineffective against various bacterial systems.
(ii) Pure infection control or health care system is also one of the factors which increase the antibiotic resistance among animals as due to lack of proper knowledge and facilities we use antibiotics continually and the regular use of the antibiotics develop resistance in animals.
(iii) The absence of new antibiotics We are using same antibiotics from a long period due to the longer time these antibiotics are now in the ecosystem and the bacterial systems develop resistance against them by means of mutation or adaptation. This is one of the biggest cause of antibiotic resistance development.
(iv) Most of the poor countries have poor hygienic and sanitation conditions due to which the microbial infection diseases are more in those regions and people use continually antibiotics to protect themselves from infection and with continuous use of antibiotics they develop resistance against
