Solution:

Brainstorming is an activity of analysing a particular aspect about which we wish to have more information. This is a very strong tool and helps in coming up with different and innovative ideas as a result. Hence, brainstoring is considered as a strong tool for research purposes. The four basic stages involved in brainstorming are,

  1. Define the objectives.
Before one starts brainstorming she should know the objective that is of concern. We should start defining the objective and make it as clear as possible in order to make further process clear and effective.
  2. Analyse and collect necessary information about the objective.
Second step is analysis step where we analyse the objective and gather the information helpful to use for developing the solution. This step is important because the quality of the information will determine the quality of the results.
  3. Find probable solutions to the objective.
With the collected information find probable solutions to the objective and note them down effectively. The solutions to the objective should be based on the information collected in the prior stage.
  4. Discuss the solutions with the group.
Once the probable solutions to the objective have been derived we discuss the findings with the group. The group discussion at the final stage is the most critical stage in brainstorming because it helps in getting different innovative ideas as a result of brainstorming process.

Hence, these are the 4 stages of branstorming process.
