In Active Euthanasia, the medical professionals do something deliberately which leads to the death of a patient. For example, giving a lethal injection.

While, in Passive Euthanasia, the medical professionals don't do something important to keep a patient alive. For example, switching off the ventilator,not giving some important drug.

Difference between the two:

In Active Euthanasia, professionals do something with which a patient dies while in Passive Euthanasia, it's more like not doing anything and letting the person die.

Some might argue that there is no difference as the end result is same in either cases I.e death of the patient.

Dr. Jack Kevorkian was a retired pathologist from Oakland County. He was accused for the murder of around 100 patients and was later sent to prison. Active Euthanasia indicates the activities of Dr. Jack Kevorkian the best as its indulging in the activity which kills a patient.
