(1)
-In Passive transport there occurs movement of molecules from their region of higher concentrations to regions of lower concentrations. It doesn't require energy for the transportation of the molecules.
- In case of active transport molecules are moved from their region of lower concentrations to region of higher concentrations. It requires metabolism energy in the form of ATP for the transportation of the molecules.
(2) example of passive transport is diffusion , facilitated diffusion and osmosis.
- Cell membrane sodium-potassium pump , exocytosis occurs by active transport.
(3) anything that is soluble in lipid, small monosaccharide, water , oxygen are transported by passive transport.
- ions , proteins are transported by active transport.
(4)
Passive transport maintain the equilibrium in the cells.
- where as to transport amino acid , ions the cell has to depend on active transport. These molecules enter the cell by protein pump.
