The marketing planning process is a systematic approach where the activities and strategies are planned to achieve the right marketing goals. Steps which are included in this process are the Industry and market analysis; Planning and making the mission, goals and objectives; Establishing the marketing tactics and techniques; Progressing the action plans and work and finally Evaluating, controlling and monitor the actions achieved.

Thus, we can see that the the strategy metrics which are the standards for the activities and the goals that has to be achieved to monitor if the work is done as per the standards or metrics set is the STEP 2. This step is where the objectives, goals and metrics of the company is set. These metrics are established to give the company a right direction towards the work where the effectivity and efficiency of the work could be controlled as the quality measures are controlled, evaluated and corrected.
