2. "You are talking with a friend about recycling. They take an extremely negative stance on recycling, stating that it cost more time and money than it is worth. 3. "You are talking with a friend about recycling. They overcame the barrier to being able to recycle by purchasing a service for $15 a month. In this example, recycling is an example of:”
1) The position towards recycling is a value. this is so as values are certain standards, principles, and ideologies that are highly regarded by a group of individuals like in a society, family, workplace etc. Another example of a value is having patriotic values for one's country, a family value of caring for each other, etc. also values are those which we have high regard for and they govern the way in which we behave, or communicate or act with others and the world around us.
2) The negative environmental response is an example of a belief. Beliefs are something that one assumes to be true without any indication or proofs for the same. they generally develop while one encounters, reads, or becomes aware of certain situations which they later assume to be true, eventually developing in a belief. For example: the belief in airplanes being unsafe due to reading about recent air-crashes.
3) The example is an indicator of an attitude. this is so as an attitude is a directed behavior in order to achieve what one believes in and thinks is a proper way of doing a given task. here the person develops an attitude to get recycling done, as they realize that it is important, but there is no indication that they did it due to family or other reasons, therefore it is not a value, but an attitude.for example: a person is always positive in even face of crisis as they believe in their hard work and here they have a positive attitude towards their life an believe that their hard work will change or help in the crisis.
