The view that defines economic development as a reduction of poverty and employment as well as an increase in income is called the human development approach.
a) True
b) False
I think there's a bit of error in the way of presenting the question or in its language. As mentioned 'reduction in poverty and employment',the reduction of poverty is good but if the question is expressed in this way,it would mean reduction in employment too which is not good.Still moving ahead,
I think the statement is 'TRUE' that the economic view of reduction in poverty, increase in employment and income is the basis of Human development approach. This approach was devised at the united nations discussions by the different nations.Previously, the progress of any nation was judged on the basis of GDP but after this approach, the people has become the point of focus of economic development, their performances, freedom, opportunities and capabilities determine the progress of any nation.Their standard of living and well-being and improvement of factors like health, education, clothing, shelter etc. in their life determines the level of economic prosperity. It also considers the quality of natural environment, their happiness, level of violence and peace in their life.
