Describe the structure and function of each of the
following blood cells
Basophil,Eosinophil, Neutrophil,Monocytes,Macrophage and Dentritic
cells
Basophils are white blood cells. Basophils contains granules. Basophils has an important role in allergic reaction, reactions mediated by IgE immunoglobulin. It involves in blood clotting.
Eosinophils:- These are white blood cells. These are also granulocytes. These are generally known as acidophil. These have important role in parasitic infection and allergic reactions also.
Neutrophils:- These are also white blood cells. These are granulocytes involved mainly in phagocytic function.Neutrophils first appear at the site of infection.
Monocytes:- Monocytes are white blood cells, differentiated into macrophages and myeloid originated dendritic cells. These are active against inflammation.
Macrophages:- These have phagocytic function. These are white blood cells. They engulf microorganisms.
Dendritic cells:- These are antigen presenting cells. They are messenger between innate and adaptive immunity. They process antigen and present it to the T cells.
