Isotonic Hypnotic Hypertonic
The level of solute is the same concentration inside and outside of the cell. A low level of solutes presents outside of the cell. A high level of solutes presents outside of the cell.
No such effect found. The cell shape is not changed. The cell becomes swell and in extreme cases, the cell may be burst. The cell becomes wrinkle.
Any type of movement does not occur. It Causes water movement from outside to inside the cell via osmosis. It Causes water movement from inside to outside via osmosis.
The cell represents a Homeostatic state. Turger pressure creates inside the cell. Plasmolysis occurs in the plant cell.
It does not affect the cell. So the cell remains living. If this situation is uncontrolled then it may lead to the death of the cell. It also leads to the death of the cell.


If the solution is Hypertonic then the cell would be wrinkle because of the high concentration of solute present outside the cell and low concentration of solute present inside the cell. So the water is coming out from inside to outside by osmosis. When the water loss occurs inside the the the cell become wrinkle.
