Answer : A) Upper UTI
Upper UTI includes infection of Kidney and Ureter.
Lower UTI includes infection of Bladder and Urethra.
Clinical features of upper UTI has an acute onset with chills, fever, flank pain, lumbar tenderness, disurea, and increased frequency of micturition. Urine will show abundance of bacteria, pus cells and pus cell cast in urinary sediment.
Clinical features of lower UTI usually includes burning sensation on urination, increased frequency and urgency of urination with disurea and cloudy urine.
Flank pain and urinary casts are indicators of upper UTI.
