1) why does human population size concern ecologists?
2) how is human population density at the root of all environmental problems?
3) explain why in the future wars may fought over water?

question: why did the human population increase dramatically after the year 1800?

Solutions

Expert Solution

1. Rapid population growth in humans leads to enviromental degradation. The addition of large no. of pepole has exaggerated this problem, as more and more envoirmental resource are being consumed to meet the demands. It has lead to catastrophic global envoirmental changes like global warming.

2. Humans have inhabitated all the continents. It is putting extreme strain on enviroment. One of the largest environmental side effect of increasing human population density is global warming hich will lead to rising sea levels and cause extreme weather conditions in future

3. Only 2.5 percent of the planet's water supply is fresh most of which is locked in glaciers. With the population increase of 77 million/year their will extreme shortage of clean drinking water in the near future. Like oil wars in 20th century, water wars might become common in future.

4. Human population did not increase but the death rate decreased due to the scientific advancements Their were other technological advancements in farming which further supported growth of population.
