The following points are considered while evaluating a pressure measuring devices.

i) What type of pressure measurement the device is designed for?

A device may be designed to measure static pressure. A pressure is said to be static if the magnitude of the pressure on a body is same in all directions.

A device may be designed to meassure dynamic pressure. A pressure is said to be dynamic if the magnitude of the pressure on a body changes with respect to different locations on the body.

ii) For what application the pressure measurement device designed for.

With varying pressure as we go high above the earths surface, an altimeter is used to determine altitude of an object.

To measure the atmospheric pressure at a location a barometer is used.
