Expert Solution

Primary concers for this patient will be monitorimg of blood sugar and liver function or cirrhosis Assessment which would be associated with concerns are history taking of alcoholism , smoking , heart diseases if any . Weight assessment is important in such patients and diet assessment is to be done. Assessment of foot sore if any , vital signs and limited vascular and neurological examination. Liver function tests can be done to rule out any abnormalities in liver ,. Blood sugar tests such as random blood sugar test

Vital signs are taken to assess any abnormalities in body vital organs. Mainly assessment is based on detecting risk of diabetes or liver disease as its chances are 50% higher in Hispanics than non Hispanics also death rate among hispanics due to diabetes and liver diseases are higher than non Hispanics , thus needed to rule out the risk diabetes and liver diseases in patient

To assess diabetes weight monitoring , blood sugar test, foot sore, diet monitoring is done also limited vascular and neurological examination is done

To assess liver disease , history of alcoholism ,smoking is collected and adviced to stop if have, neurological examination is done to detect any sign on hepatic encephalopathy progression , liver function tests are done to detect any abnormalities in liver functions and its lft values tells about abnormal function of liver if any changes are seen in Alt , AST , creatinine , bun , serum albumin etc

Thus primary concern in Hispanics are diabetes and liver disease as its rate is higher than any other disease in them ..heart diseases and cancer as a cause of death are found to be equal in both Hispanics and non Hispanics.
