Polymers replaced steel, glass, wood, stone, cotton because of the following properties.

Low cost
Light weight
Good insulation properties
Good strength
Good thermal resistance

We cannot imagine the modern automobiles and aircraft without polymers. Otherwise, we have to depend on the medieval time bullock cart for transportation.

Electronic gadgets including mobile phones, tablet, television, etc. cannot be made without polymer.

So, polymers play a vital role in our daily life.
