ANS 1. BARRIERS TO EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION:

  • LINGUISTIC BARRIERS: LINGUISTICS BARRIERS MEANS BARRIERS LANGUAGE BARRIERS. THE LANGUAGES OF DIFFERENT REGIONS ARE DIFFERENT. IF ONE PERSON COULD NOT UNDERSTAND THE LANGUAGE OF OTHER, THE COMMUNICATION WILL BE HINDERED. THIS CAN BE SEEN WITHIN AS WELL AS OUTSIDE WORKPLACES.
  • PSYCHOLOGICAL BARRIERS: PSYCHOLOGICALLY SOME PEOPLE MAY NOT FEEL FREE TO TALK OR MAY BE DEPRESSED OR MAY HAVE SOME SPEECH DISORDERS. SO, THIS WILL AFFECT THE EASE TO COMMUNICATE.
  • EMOTIONAL BARRIERS: FOR COMMUNICATION TO BE EFFECTIVE, EMOTIONAL IQ OF A PERSON PLAYS A VITAL ROLE. EMOTIONS CAN BE ANGER, HUMOUR, FRUSTRATION ETC WHICH CAN MAKE THE COMMUNICATION INEFFECTIVE.
  • PHYSICAL BARRIERS: THESE WILL INCLUDE BARRIERS LIKE CLOSED CABINS, CLOSED DOORS ETC THAT HINDERS THE COMMUNICATION.
  • ORGANISATIONAL BARRIERS: WITHIN THE ORGANISATION, THERE ARE VARIOUS LEVELS THROUGH WHICH THE COMMUNICATION IS PASSED ON. THEREFORE THERE ARE MANY CHANCES THAT THE INFORMATION GETS DISTORTED IN THE WAY AND THE FINAL INFORMATION BECOMES TOTALLY DIFFERENT IN MEANING THAN THE ORIGINAL ONE. SO, THE ORGATIONAL STRUCTURE IS ONE ESSENTIAL BARRIER TO BE LOOK AFTER.
  • PHYSIOLOGICAL BARRIERS: THESE INCLUDE THE INABILITY TO SPEAK DUE TO PROBLEMS LIKE DYSLEXIA, SHRILLNESS OF VOICE ETC. THIS ALSO HINDERS THE COMMUNICATION.
  • TECHNOLOGICAL BARRIERS: SOMETIMES THERE ARE ALSO TECHNOLOGICAL BARRIERS BECAUSE IT IS DIFFICULT TO KEEP UP WITH THE DEVELOPMENTS ALL THE TIME. AT A PARTICULAR STAGE, THE TECHNOLOGY BECOMES OBSOLETE AND STARTS HINDERING THE COMMUNICATION PROCESS.

ANS 2. IF THERE ARE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN HEALTH CARE WORKERS AND PATIENTS THEN IT MIGHT AFFECT PATIENTS HEALTH BECAUSE PATIENT MIGHT NOT AGREE FOR THE TREATMENT THAT THE HEALTH WORKER WANT TO GIVE. THIS WILL AFFECT THE PATIENTS HEALTH BECAUSE PATIENT MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO BUILD UP TRUST, LOYALTY ETC TOWARDS DOCTORS/HEALTH WORKERS.YES, THERE IS LIMITATIONS IN THE PATIENT DOCTOR RELATIONSHIP. THESE LIMITATIONS CAN BE BECAUSE OF TIME CONSTRAINTS, THE SPACE THAT BOTH WANT FROM EACH OTHER, THE MEETING OF PATIENT i.e. NEW PATIENT OR KNOWN PATIENT.
