Solutions

Expert Solution

6ohm and 4 ohm are in resistance so equivalent of these is R' .

R' = 6+4 = 10 ohm

5 ohm and 10 ohm are in resistance so equivalent of these is R".

R" = 5+10 = 15 ohm

now R' and R" are in parallel connection,

1/Req = 1/R' + 1/R"

1/Req = 1/10 + 1/15

Req = 6 ohm

I = 24 /6 = 4 A

current through R' = 4 x 15 / (10 +15) = 2.4 A

current through R" = 4 - 2.4 =1.6 A

current through 4ohm and 6 ohm = 2.4 A

current through 5 ohm and 10 ohm = 1.6 A

V(4) = 2.4x 4 =9.6 volt

V(6) = 2.4 x 6 = 14.4 volt

V(5) = 1.6 x 5 = 8 V

V(10) = 1.6 x10 = 16 v
