Part A: For the circuit shown in the figure(Figure 1) find the current through each resistor.
Part B: For the circuit shown in the figure find the potential difference across each resistor.
resistance of middle wire
Rm = 4* 12 / ( 4 + 12) + 5= 8 ohm
net resistance of circuit
R = 24 * 8 / ( 24 + 8) + 3 = 9 ohm
net current through circuit
i = V/R = (12-3) / 9 = 1 A
========
for 3ohm
i3 = 1 A
V3 = 3 * 1 = 3 V
=====
for 24 ohm
i24 = 1* Rm / ( 24 + Rm) = 0.25 A
V24 = 0.25* 24 = 6 V
=====
for 5 ohm
i5 = i - i24 = 0.75 A
V5 = 0.75* 5 = 3.75 V
=====
for 4 ohm
i4 = 0.75* 12 / ( 12 + 4) = 0.5625
V4 = 6 - V5 = 2.25 V
=====
for 12 ohm
i12 = 0.75 - 0.5625 = 0.1875 A
v12 = 2.25 V
