american Composer, Aaron Copland said: “if I were to sum up the 60’s for someone, I would play the music of the Beatles.”
1.) Discuss ways in which the Beatles can be considered a microcosm of the 60’s.
2.) Have there been any groups since the Beatles who can be considered a microcosm for another decade (ie. 70s, 80s, 90s)? If so, who or who might have come close.
Part—1
The Beatles are considered as the revolutionary ban in the 1960's because they have favored with what the decades need from them. The Beatles considered as the microcosm because most of the plays are depended on the people. It is a British band, so they search for young people after the assassination of John.F.Kennedy. It is different from any other music band in the US because of their conceptual clarity. In this music and, every member sings, write songs and also plays the instruments. They reject all other music bands in terms of the separate writer, producer and singer. Also, their common idea was to consider young people who have a rebellious mindset. They are a microcosm in the 60's because they represent decades than a simple music band.
Part—2
In the 1960's, no other band give much pleasure to the people than the Beatles. They were iconic in the 60's because they represent the decade by using their music. After this, many of the single music genres emerged, so Beatles cannot be long for further decades. The only music band then considered as a microcosm is Queen appeared in the mid-70's to mid-80's. They come up with a hard rock style. But we cannot say they were a microcosm of the 70's because they are failed to capture the decade’ s need. The best music band in the 70's is Disco than a queen. Because Disco become a microcosm, but Queen is simply a music band.
