UN MDG 4: Reduce Child Mortality Rate - The leading causes of death among children under five are birth complications, cogenital anomalies, respiratory diseases, diarrhea, etc. According to GHO data, 46% death among children under five were accounted in 2016.This goal aims to reduce mortality rate among children under five by two-thirds by different means like vaccination, nutrition programmes, postnatal care better sanitation and many other health cares.
Progress of UN(according to Global Millennium Development Goals Report 2015): 1. Decrease in mortality rate from 90 to 43 deaths per 1000 live births between 1990 and 2015.
2. A global drop in under five children deaths from 12.7 million in 1990 to 6 million in 2015.
3. The vaccination for measles play an important role and prevent almost 15.6 million deaths between 2000 and 2013.
Health of female is very important as healthy pregnant women and new mothers play an important role for child health and can reduce mortality rate. Educating females about nutritious food and breastfeeding also important for this purpose as it prevent under nutrition and reduce mortality. Proper sanitation and vaccination also has positive impact.
