Goal 3 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is to “ensure healthy lives and promote wellbeing for all at all ages”. Supporting your answers with relevant examples, propose five (5) strategic measures that healthcare facilities in Ghana can adopt to generate and manage quality data for measuring indicators on progress towards attainment of the SDG goal 3.

SDG goal 3 health targets are,

1)by 2030, reduce the global meternal mortality ratio to less than 70 per 100 000 live births

strategic measures that health facilities in Ghana can adopt to generate and manage quality data for measuring indicators on progress is make a criteria based clinical audit of life theratening maternity  complications

these methodologies should strongly support by expert opinion .FOR EXAMPLE collect data and assess all maternal eclampsia cases and manage their health care condition to improve outcome

2)by 2030, end preventable death of newbors and children under 5 years of age

assess the quality of  neonatal nursing   and child care FOR EXAMPLE check immunisation status of newborns and children especially under 5 .Newborns have impaired immune response due to range of deficiencies in both adaptive immunity and innate immunity

assess the engagement of empower mothers,families and communities to participate in and demand quality newborn care

3)by 2030 ,end the epidemic of AIDS,TUBERCULOSIS AND MALARIAand neglected tropical diseases and combat hepatitis ,water bor disease and other communicable disease

check the quality of case detection,data accuracy ,data compleeness ,data security and confidenciality through community based approaches

public health departments and commuinty based health improvement collaboratives focus more efficient path to better outcome

By adding precise focus on community needs public health departments  help to address risk factors of health

4) By 2030,reduce by one third premature mortlity from non communicable diseases through prevention and treatment and promote mental health and well being

detailed analysis of maternal risk factors ,complete collection of maternal medical history ,obstetric history is essential to reduce premature mortality

strengthen community health programms to improve better data collection for better treatment and care for example ,screening for lower gestational tract infections,Health education about importance of smoking cessation.

5)strengthen the prevention and treatment of substance abuse

assess the effectivness of toll free helpline for alcohol and drug addits

check the effectiveness of rehabilitation through the assessment of successfully managed conditions

example ,stop underage drinking coordinate federal efforts   to reduce under age drinking
