  • The caregivers also need to prepare for the increased risk of developing chronic conditions like poor growth and cerebral palsy which can have some long term effects on the growth and development of the infant.
  • Infants who are born with extremely low weight are also expected to have a lower IQ than their higher weight counterparts and that also needs to be considered.
