Expert Solution

The consumer may be looking for objectivity as they try to understand what the reporter is saying, understanding how true the information is.Consumers look for facts too which are supported by evidence, such as pictures, recordings, or articles because these facts makes the information to appear true and indisputable. A consumer may listen to news so as to know which opinion to have on a certain issue.

During the past election, did you find yourself following a political story or candidate on the Internet?

I follow a candidate on the internet which was donald trump and mike pence race it was a tense race and very serious battleground in Presidential politics, The 2016 United States presidential election was the 58th quadrennial presidential election,it was being battered from the press due to the relationship he had with Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Most of Wrights preaching was inflammatory in his sermons which were captured on videos and all through YouTube. The videos helped calm over 5.3 million people of proving the popularity and impact of the first used widely election cycle. Even though normal campaign advertising, online videos are more often persuasive due to it was passed virally from one to another person, the video tend to circulated the web site even before McCain was asked a question how many houses does he owned.

Did you follow similar stories on candidates through television or in your local paper?

The media and politics will always be a close tie, politician’s need media to able to win their election and reporters have to cover people who are chosen to lead for government. I tend to follow different candidates through TV, local papers and internet I would jump from one to the other to hear different versions on what is being talked about. All about taking notes of the backdrop behind the candidate, most people are carefully chosen in order to appear in photos or news coverage. Race and gender are very important when deciding who will get to behind the candidate through the campaign speech. Candidate who have enough money will spend what is needed on TV to printing advertisements to win his/her campaign, although you might not know all the rules of giving political campaign advantage over the media.

What were the differences between Internet reporting and television and newspaper reporting?

The differences is TV will update more faster and easier than newspapers, TV is live so it can update timely and frequently than newspaper publication date that is fixed already. Then TV is more vivid than newspapers TV not only has the color picture but has the sound and background music; newspapers are silence unless you read them out loud to yourself or others. Last the newspapers are easier to carry under your arm or in a little bag and you can read it over and over but who would want to read it again and again, plus it’s too hard to carry a TV all around.

From your observations, what do you think are the general effects of the Internet on politics?

Well more and more people are using the internet just about everything, so the brain inside the person who is using internet may show abnormalities just like people who are addictive to alcohol, smoking, or drugs. People who may be drawn more to the internet for politics rather use the internet than read the paper or watch TV, because no matter what researchers state no matter what we do in life it is going to be bad for our health; so basically just do what you enjoy doing and don’t worry about how you are getting your sources.
